GUM Food Drive
The semi annual Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Drive will be Saturday, October 25 from 10-6. We need volunteers for 2 hour shifts at the Jamestown Food Lion. Our church has participated in the GUM Food Drive since it began in 1987, 39 years ago! With the cost of food significantly increasing, and SNAP benefits being cut, many in our community cannot feed their families.

FaithAction Toy Drive
Since 2010, we have assisted FaithAction in providing Christmas gifts for 25 children, The Angel Tree with the names, ages and toy requests will be available for you to choose a child when we receive the information. Thank you for your participation in this important ministry.
Jamestown Presbyterian Food Assistance Request
Jamestown Presbyterian Church prepares 100 food boxes at Thanksgiving and Christmas for families they serve. These families are from Hanes Inman School, Jamestown Elementary School, New Arrivals and Church World Service. They are asking our congregation and Preschool if we can collect spaghetti sauce/noodles. Last year we provided approximately 75 jars/boxes to help with this food ministry. Containers at the Preschool and Gathering Area will be provided for these items. Thank you for helping!
Thank you to the Earth Care Team for contributing $2,000 to the Benevolence Ministry Team budget. This amount will be very helpful in providing emergency assistance for those needing help with Duke Energy, rental assistance and emergency hotel assistance.
Sunday Serve
We still meal prep and serve about 120 people, every other Sunday in downtown Greensboro.
The Holidays are coming so we’ll be filling 75-100 book bags with toiletries, candies, snacks, socks, hand warmers, etc. Keep that in mind when cleaning out.
We are out of meal containers so we are collecting those again. There is also an option of giving through Tithly, SPC’s online giving, to go toward Sunday Serve.
We’d love to have anyone who would like to join us every other Saturday morning at 10:00 for meal prep in our kitchen. We’ll meet Oct 10th & 24th.
Your fourth Sunday Benevolence Offering at work:
To date in 2026: $6,583.45
$2,404.45 – Duke Energy/PNG – 7 families
$2,091.00 – Rent assistance – 4 families
$2,088.05 – Hotel emergency stays – 2 families
The requests come from and are verified by Greensboro Urban Ministry, Colt’s Run and
Redhill Pointe management, Greensboro Police Department, and Mustard Seed
Community Health.
Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
